Common questions
I am not getting weather alerts
Alerts need three things turned on. First, allow notifications for SkyMochi Weather in the iOS Settings app under Notifications. Second, give the app location access set to While Using the App, so alerts match where you are. Third, open the app's own Settings and make sure the alert types you want, such as severe weather and lightning, are switched on.
The app is showing the wrong place
SkyMochi uses your device location while the app is in use. If it looks wrong, check that location access is allowed in iOS Settings. You can also search for any place and save it, then switch to it from the location list.
Account and Sign in with Apple
Signing in with Apple is optional and only used to sync your saved places and settings across your devices. You never have to create a password, and you can hide your email with Apple's Private Relay. The weather works fully without an account.
Delete my account or data
You can delete your account and everything synced with it from inside the app, under Settings. You can also email hello@skymochi.com with the subject "Delete my data" and we will remove it. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your phone.
Widgets are not updating
Add a widget by touching and holding the Home Screen, tapping the plus, and choosing SkyMochi Weather. iOS refreshes widgets on its own schedule, so they update periodically rather than every minute. The alert widgets change color the moment a warning is active.
What do I need to run it
SkyMochi Weather is an iPhone app and needs iOS 18 or later. You can get it on the App Store.
