Agreement
These terms cover the SkyMochi Weather iOS app and the skymochi.com website, operated by SkyMochi ("we"). By using the app you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If anything here conflicts with Apple's EULA for app store purchases, Apple's EULA controls.
The most important term: do not rely on the app alone for safety
SkyMochi presents official weather data and alerts as a convenience. It is not a substitute for official emergency information. Data can be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable because of network conditions, upstream outages, or device settings. During dangerous weather, follow the guidance of local authorities and official channels such as NOAA Weather Radio and Wireless Emergency Alerts. We make no guarantee that any alert will be delivered or delivered in time.
SkyMochi Plus subscriptions
SkyMochi's core features are free. SkyMochi Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) that unlocks additional features, and may include an introductory free trial for new subscribers. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of a free trial if one applies.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device's Settings under your Apple Account subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
- Life-safety alerts and core weather for your location remain free and are never gated behind Plus.
Accounts
An account (Sign in with Apple) is optional for using the app and is required to start a subscription and to sync saved places and settings. You can delete your account at any time from within the app; see the Privacy Policy for what is stored and how deletion works.
Acceptable use
You agree not to abuse the service: no scraping or bulk-downloading our data endpoints, no attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our systems, and no use of the app where its failure could lead directly to death, personal injury, or environmental damage.
Weather data and attribution
Forecasts, radar, and alerts come from sources including Apple Weather, NOAA/NWS, and Environment and Climate Change Canada. The data belongs to its providers and is presented as received. Attribution is listed in the app under Settings.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkyMochi is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from reliance on weather information shown in the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
